About this trip
We leave the harbour in the dark and reach the first reef just as the sky turns gold. Your guide reads the water, rigs your tackle and shows you how to jig and bottom-fish for the reef species found along this stretch of the southern coast.
The day suits complete beginners and experienced anglers alike. We move between a few spots depending on the tide and conditions, stop for a cooked lunch on board, and are back in port by mid-afternoon. Any fish you keep can be grilled for you at a warung near the harbour.
Itinerary
Pre-dawn departure
Meet at Pelabuhan Ratu harbour at 04:30. Safety briefing, coffee and a light breakfast, then board the boat.
Sunrise on the reef
Fish the first reef as the sun comes up. Your guide sets up jigging and bottom rigs and helps with technique.
Midday on the water
Move to a second spot with the tide. Cooked lunch of rice, vegetables and fresh fruit served on board.
Return to harbour
Head back around 14:00. Optional grilling of your catch at a local warung before you travel home.
